Everyone at Euro-Rite Cabinets understands that there are people and communities struggling with challenges that many of us will never experience. We know that giving back to the communities and helping those struggling to overcome obstacles is important. That’s why Euro-Rite supports a variety of charities and community organizations that strive to make a difference in the world. Read more below about Euro-Rite’s fundraising goals and recent community celebrations:
Euro-Rite Cabinets is proud to participate the Down Syndrome Research Foundation’s Run Up for Down Syndrome!
Share in the excitement and join Euro-Rite Cabinets on June 4 at Simon Fraser University, to run, jog, walk, or stroll in celebration of individuals with Down syndrome and everything they contribute to our community! Team Euro-rite will be part of the estimated crowd of 1,000 participants eager to raise money and support all kids and families of Down Syndrome.
Run Up for Down Syndrome is hosted by the Down Syndrome Research Foundation. In the weeks leading up to the run, participants collect donations from friends and family with a customized webpage. You can find Euro-Rite’s customized personal fundraising webpage here to donate and sponsor the team! Last year was a record year – the run raised over $108,000 of which $38,000 came from TEAM EURO-RITE.
Wahoo! This year our goal is $40,000.
Every bit counts! $5 or $50 it all helps and donating is so simple;
‘Would you like this donation to be credited to someone’s fundraising page?’ Choose Euro-Rite!
OR you can give cash or cheque – Euro-Rite will make sure you get your tax deduction receipt. Everyone is welcome to run or walk with us. You can join TEAM EURO-RITE on the same link as your donation.
Participants will experience the traditional 5 km or 1.5 km walk or run, and enjoy a variety of fun family activities such as face painting, a bouncy castle, games, mascots, scrumptious food, and much more! Runners will also have a chance to win incredible prizes, including a classroom pizza party courtesy of Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria!
The Down Syndrome Research Foundation’s goal is to empower individuals with Down Syndrome to reach their full potential throughout life! They do this through providing educational programs and services that are grounded in foundational research. Because they work with researchers, professionals, and families they function as a bridge between research and practice.
The whole team at Euro-Rite Cabinets is so excited to spend the day with you and raise money for the Down Syndrome Research Foundation. If you can’t make it on June 4 consider donating or sharing this post with your friends and family! Help us beat last year’s record! Donate today!
This past month Euro-Rite Cabinets sponsored the Port Coquitlam Euro-Rite FC Scholarship Awards. The scholarship awards have been an integral part the clubs calendar, and Euro-Rite Cabinets has been proud to support the scholarship program for the past four years!
The Port Coquitlam Euro-Rite FC is a soccer club with the mission to create a positive and supportive environment providing members of the community with the opportunity to develop physically, intellectually and socially through the sport of soccer.
The club’s scholarship program recognizes players who are well rounded. They recognize players that are dedicated and committed team members, leaders both on and off the field. These players are participants in several schools and community sports, clubs, and activities, and strong academic students and volunteers both within the club and community.
During the evening, Port Coquitlam Euro-rite FC also took a moment to recognize three longtime volunteers for their countless hours on the field working with players and in meetings planning and organizing programs. Steve Dunlop, Cindy Friesen, and Tracy Nolet were recognized as visionaries who have grown the club in specific areas and continually build foundations for the players of tomorrow!
Steve Dunlop has coached with the club for seven years. He spent time as the director of the club board and was the Mini Girls Coordinator for 4 years. Thereafter, he continued the club board as director of Sponsership.
It is in this role that Steve was a visionary and had his biggest impact. Steve started the club’s relationship with Tim Hortons for the U6 – U8 program. He was then instrumental in establishing the club’s relationship with Euro-Rite Cabinets. Through the annual kitchen raffle, the club has been able to raise over $400,000 that has directly funded youth soccer programs.
Steve has also had the vision to transform the year end mini jamboree into a community celebration of soccer and fun, and for 9 years he’s lead the mini jamboree!
Cindy embodies “soccer for life”! She’s played with the Women’s Classic division since 2006 and was an assistant coach for her daughter’s team from 1997 until 2006! Cindy began serving on the club board of directors in 2004, and in 2008 when she became the adult coordinator she made a profound impact.
At the time the club had just one men’s team and one women’s. Today there are 13 women’s teams in the club and the women’s soccer program has become a true leader in the Metro Women’s Soccer League, providing opportunities at all skill levels from recently graduating youth to players well into their 50’s! Cindy was also recognized for starting a coed drop-in on Friday nights and an adult learn to play program that encourages adults to play soccer for the first time!
Tracey coached or managed a team for nine years and has served on the club board of directors for eleven years, from 2007 to today. A member of the board she has taken on many roles, but in the last 6 years as Vice President, she has become a rock and solid foundation for the club.
Tracy re organized and re structured all administrative and operational functions within the club that are so critical for a successful club of over 2500 youth and adult players. Tracy was recognized for work with field allocation, field and gym contracts, game and ref scheduling, registration, volunteer programs, referee development, staff contracts, BC gaming grants and so much more.
Euro-Rite Cabinets would like to congratulate all scholarship winners and volunteers for their hard work!
